They flinch.

They hear the name and brace themselves.
For judgement, for correction.
For being talked at.
For being told what they already know they can’t live up to.

So they take steps back before they even get close.

What they’ve been shown isn’t a person.
It’s a product.
Wrapped.
Branded.
Polished.
Smiling too hard.

That Jesus doesn’t feel safe.

He feels like another authority figure with expectations and no patience to listen to you.

This is not true.

He sat with people who were doing things they couldn’t defend.
He listened before He corrected.
He noticed people everyone else walked past.
He asked questions instead of delivering speeches.

He understood hunger.
Fatigue.
Shame.
The weight of ordinary days.

People are not looking for a lecturer.
They are looking for someone who knows what it’s like to be human and still loves them.

ReturntoJesus.co.uk exists to strip away the packaged version, and all forms of religion and all its bondages.

And to quietly point back to the man who walked into real lives and help you on the path to untangle them, and liberation.

I promise this.

Zaheer,
