Refresher: Our Purpose

Purpose:

A quiet, welcoming online space for adults to talk honestly about faith, doubt, life, and meaning — without arguments, pressure, or performative religion.

A place to speak freely, listen carefully, and grow gently.

Community Values

  • Humility over ‘winning’. To quote Bruce Springsteen from 1975 (50 years ago!): “In the end, unless everybody wins, nobody wins”. Amen to that!
  • Room for all questions
  • Respect across religions, faiths and all denominations therein

What you can find here:

  • A quiet place to read
  • A library of questions
  • A space without arguments or comment wars

A quiet place to read honest answers to real questions

This is a read-only space. No comments. No debates. Just thoughtful, introspective replies to questions in all realms of real life.

Questions are first asked privately and then shared, with permission, publicly, with answers, so others can read and hopefully learn.

This space is for people who are — tired, curious, cautious, and overwhelmed in today’s climate, to show them they are not alone.

Who would this space benefit?

  • People curious but hesitant about faith v. religion
  • People burnt out by online arguments driven by drivel and ego
  • Quiet seekers of truth
  • Parents, adults, doubters, teens
  • People who read more than they speak

Who would this space not benefit?

  • Debate bros
  • Comment warriors
  • Theology arguers
  • Those that need to be right regardless of whether they are right or not.

Why no comments?

This space doesn’t host public comments. There are multiple arenas for that.
Again, questions are sent privately and answered publicly so others can read without pressure.

Why this works:

  • People feel safer emailing
  • Readers don’t feel watched by previous responders who may have disagreed with them
  • No pile-ons
  • No embarrassment or intentional humiliation by others
